Product: This field can include any keyboard character. This field is unique to this product. A product can be selected by entering the product code in this field. If the product number doesn't exist, the system will assume the user wishes to create a new product with the entered information. This field is an Alpha-numerical and is 25 digits.
The system will prompt the following question:

The user can click on Yes or No depending if you want to create this item or not. If Yes, the system will bring the cursor under Type.
Type: The types of products have been pre-entered by Phoenix. No new types can be added by the user. Need to call Phoenix Support to add any new types.
The user must choose a type from the drop-down list:

Status: When creating a new item, the system will put the status as Active. When set to active, product can be searched and will be visible throughout the system. When set to inactive, product will no longer be visible throughout the system while using a search except if you click the box to include Inactive Products.

English Description: The user must type in the English Description of the item. This field is Alpha-numeric and is 60 digits.
Coupon Description: The user must type in the English description to print on the coupon receipt. This field is Alpha-numeric and is 30 digits.
French Description: The user must type in the French Description of the item if applicable. This field is Alpha-numeric and is 60 digits. The user can press enter to skip this description.
Coupon Description: The user must type in the French description to print on the coupon receipt. This field is Alpha-numeric and is 30 digits. The user can press enter to skip this description.
Unit of Measure: This would be the main unit of measure for this product. The user must choose a unit of measure from the drop-down List.
Cost/Price Unit: This is the displayable unit of measure of the product. The user must choose a unit of measure from the drop-down List.
Only one of the following must be chosen by the user:
Average Cost: The user must enter an average cost when creating a new product.
Gross Margin: The user must enter a Gross Margin when creating a new product.
Master Number: If creating a satellite product, the user must enter the Main Product Code under the Master number.
Please note that when these fields are created, can no longer be modified.

Retail: The user must enter a Retail price for this item. This Price 1 has been renamed to Retail.
Trade: The user must enter a Price 2 for this item if applicable. This Price 2 has been renamed to Trade.
Inter-Store: The user must enter an Inter-Store price for this item. This Price 3 has been rename to Inter-Store.
Price 4: The user must enter a Price 4 for this item if applicable.
Price 5: The user must enter a Price 5 for this item if applicable.
Price 6: The user must enter a Price 6 for this item if applicable.
Retail: This field can be used to enter the manufacturer's suggested Retail Price. This amount is not used throughout the system, it is for informational purposes only.
Current Price: The user cannot enter anything here since the system will display the current selling price, including applicable special prices as per the Cash customer set in the system which is usually 999999.
Federal Tax: This field is used to set whether or not the product has applicable Federal taxes. No data can be manually entered here, one must be selected from the list.
State/Provincial Tax: This field is used to set whether or not the product has applicable State or Provincial taxes depending on your country. No data can be manually entered here, one must be selected from the list.
Category 1: The user must select the product main level 1 category. No category can be manually be created in this field, one must be selected from the pull-down list. This category can then be used throughout the system. For example, report sorting and applications for special prices.
Category 2: The user must select the product main level 2 category. No category can be manually be created in this field, one must be selected from the pull-down list. This category can then be used throughout the system. For example, report sorting and applications for special prices.
Category 3: The user must select the product main level 3 category. No category can be manually be created in this field, one must be selected from the pull-down list. This category can then be used throughout the system. For example, report sorting and applications for special prices.
Category 4: The user must select the product main level 4 category. No category can be manually be created in this field, one must be selected from the pull-down list. This category can then be used throughout the system. For example, report sorting and applications for special prices.
Alpha 1: The information entered in this field will be used throughout the system in order to help the user search for this product. Enter any 20 characters in this field that should be used to search this product. When creating a new product, if no information is entered in Alpha 1, the system will populate the field with the first 20 characters of the English Description.
Alpha 2: The information entered in this field will be used throughout the system in order to help the user search for this product. Enter any 20 characters in this field that should be used to search this product.
Alpha 3: The information entered in this field will be used throughout the system in order to help the user search for this product. Enter any 20 characters in this field that should be used to search this product.
Alpha 4: The information entered in this field will be used throughout the system in order to help the user search for this product. Enter any 20 characters in this field that should be used to search this product.
Thickness: This field is used to enter the product Thickness. This field can be used for information purposes only. In the case of master/satellite products, the field must be populated if the thickness option in the unit of measure conversion maintenance is checked. The unit of Measure can be found in the Unit of Measure Conversion Maintenance.
Width: This field is used to enter the product Width. This field can be used for information purposes only. In the case of master/satellite products, the field must be populated if the thickness option in the unit of measure conversion maintenance is checked. The unit of Measure can be found in the Unit of Measure Conversion Maintenance.
Length: This field is used to enter the product Length. This field can be used for information purposes only. In the case of master/satellite products, the field must be populated if the thickness option in the unit of measure conversion maintenance is checked. The unit of Measure can be found in the Unit of Measure Conversion Maintenance.
Quantity per Package: This field is used to enter the product Quantity per Package. This field can be used for information purposes only. In the case of master/satellite products, the field must be populated if the thickness option in the unit of measure conversion maintenance is checked. The unit of Measure Conversion Maintenance can be found in the menu UNIT.
Economic Quantity: This field is used to enter the quantity you need to buy in order to get a discount from suppliers. This field is used in the product re-ordering process and not used for product conversions.
Weight: The product weight entered in this field is for informational purposes and is also used in the printing of the delivery slip.
Volume: The product volume entered in this field is for informational purposed and is also used in the printing of the delivery slip.
Generic Label File: When this option is checked, the system knows that this product requires a label. When importing products from another module into the label printing, the system will include the products in the labels to be printed.
Label Type: The user must select from the drop-down list the type of label to be printed. Label types can be added through the Product Labels Types Maintenance.
Serial Number: The user must check this box if need to track this product with a serial number for warranty purposes.
Price List: The user must check this box if need to be included on the price list.
Flat Price: The user must check this box if you want to print the net price on the invoice instead of showing the price and the discount.
Sell-able: The user must check this box to be able to sell this product through Point of Sales and Order Entry.
Purchasable: The user must check this box to be able to purchase this product through the Purchasing module.
Save: Click the button to save modified or added information.
