Satellite Products

This option is used as an easier way to create a satellite product. Before starting entering Satellite Products, the user must make sure that that unit of measure as well as the conversions are created.

The user must recall the Master Product number which was created through the Product Maintenance.

Once the Master Product is entered under the Master Product Field, the following fields will be populated automatically by the system:

Satellite Product: The user can add an extension to finish the product code or create a new product totally just by overriding what the system is suggestion.

English Description: The system populated this field based on the master product.  The user can override this description.

French Description: The system populated this field based on the master product.  The user can override this description.

Unit: The user must type in the unit of measure for this satellite product. Depending on the conversion unit from an unit to, the system will bring your cursor to the proper field such as Thickness, width, length or quantity.

Thickness: The user must enter the thickness if applicable.  Mostly used for Lumber such as Spruce 2x4x8.

Width: The user must enter the width if applicable.  Mostly used for Lumber such as Spruce 2x4x8.

Length: The user must enter the length if applicable.  Mostly used for Lumber such as Spruce 2x4x8.

Quantity:The user must enter the Quantity if applicable. 

Price: The user must enter the Price of this product.

Factor: The system will fill in the factor based on the conversion which should already be in the system.

When the user is completed entering the information for the Satellite product, the user must press F2 and confirm the following question:

The user must click on Yes to accept the Satellite product or No if the user doesn't want to create the Satellite product.

Once created from this option, any modifications will have to be brought through the Product Maintenance.
