Generic Products

 

This option is used to regroup product together for different purposes.  Before starting to group products together, a product code has to be created in the product maintenance with a Type 5 which is Generic Product.

 

 

Generic Number: The user must enter the Generic Product number or press F1 to perform a search to find the generic products.

 

Unit: This field will populated automatically based on information in the maintenance for the generic product.

 

Display Unit: This field will populated automatically based on information in the maintenance for the generic product.

 

English Description: This field will populated automatically based on information in the maintenance for the generic product.

 

French Description: This field will populated automatically based on information in the maintenance for the generic product.

 

Type: The user must choose a type from the drop-down list

 

Choices:

 

01 - Change all products

12 - Do not change all products

 

Both of these types will allow the user to use this generic code to enter promotions such as Special Prices, Quantity Pricing in Special Prices, Bogos and Coupons.

 

Type 01: The user must choose this type if the user wants to update the prices of all the items grouped under the generic group either by changing it in the product maintenance or by using price changes by date. i.e. If you change the selling price of the Generic Code, the prices of all the prices of the items grouped under that Generic Code will also change.  It is really important that if you choose Type 01 that all the products under that Generic Code has the same selling price since the prices will update when changing the price of the Generic Code.

 

Type 02: The user must choose this type if the user doesn't want to update the prices of all the items grouped under the generic group.  When choosing products to be under this group, the prices doesn't matter as much as the ones under Type 1.

 

The user must press the Add button to start entering the products under the Generic Code.

 

Product Number Tab: The user must enter a product number and press enter and all the other fields will be automatically populated by the system based on the product's information.

 

Category Tab: The user must click on the Category Tab first and than click on the Add button to enter the categories under a Generic Item.

 

Category 1: The user must enter the category 1 into this field or a research for this category can be perform by pressing F1 and choosing the category.

 

Category 2: The user must enter the category 2 into this field or a research for this category can be perform by pressing F1 and choosing the category.

 

The description will populated automatically based on information of the product entered or the Category entered.

 

Category 3: The user must enter the category 3 into this field or a research for this category can be perform by pressing F1 and choosing the category.

 

Category 4: The user must enter the category 4 into this field or a research for this category can be perform by pressing F1 and choosing the category.

History Tab:

 

This option is used to display all changes done to the Pick-up Locations Maintenance.

 

User: The user number who made the change.

 

Product: The product that was changed.

 

Category: The category that was changed.

 

Description:  This field is automatically populated by the product or category description

 

Added: If the box is clicked, this mean either the product or category was added to this generic code.

 

Removed: If the box is clicked, this mean either the product or category was removed from this generic code.

 

Date/Time: Date and Time of change.
