Return Messages
The Return Messages module allows the user to select what needs to be done when return messages such as Defective was chosen when a return was done in Point of Sales and Order entry. These return messages are created under the Return Messages under the Receivable Maintenance.

The user will enter the Replacement/Return Warehouse and press enter and the system will display the products that was return and the clerk/salesperson chose a return message with a damage Type.
Step 1: Enter Quantity in the right column
The user has 3 choices at this time.
Quantity to Keep: If the user decide that this product is not damage and is sell-able or maybe sell-able with a discount, the user will type in the quantity to return to the regular warehouse under the Quantity to Keep. The system will transfer the quantity from the replacement warehouse to the regular warehouse automatically when the update is done.
Quantity to Scrap: If the user decide that this product is scrap, the user will type in the quantity under Quantity to Scrap and the system will automatically scrap this item from the system.
Quantity to Return: If the user decide that this product must be return to the vendor, the user will type in the quantity under Quantity to Return. The user will follow Step 2 to complete this process.

The user will notice that the quantity to return is highlighted in yellow since the process is not completed for a Return to Vendor. Please proceed to Step 2 below.
Step 2: Complete the RTV (Return To Vendor)
The user must highlight the line with a quantity to return and the screen on the bottom will open up. Please refer to the screen below:

The user must click on the Add button to be able to proceed with the RTV to a specific vendor and the cursor will be under the Vendor field:
Under the vendor field, the user must type in the vendor number or press F1 to perform a search to find the proper vendor to return this merchandise.
Once the vendor number is displayed on the screen, the system will display the name and the user will need to enter the quantity to return to the vendor. The quantity to return in this example is 1.
Once all quantities are entered on the top part of the window and RTV are filled in under the Vendor Return window, the user must click on the Update button.
The system will update this automatically.
If RTV are entered, the system will create a Negative or Credit Receiving Slip. The user must recall this Receiving Slip and change the Status to Complete under the Receiving Slip under the Purchasing Module. Please refer to the Receiving Slips Fields Help under the Purchases Module.
